guests of Mrs. Margaret Janzen
from Thursday till Tuesday, Feb.
2. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Hiebert of
Dallas were Saturday guests at
the Janzen home. The Lowens
and Mrs. Janzen accompanied
Mr. and Mrs. George Kirkwood
and sons of Forest Grove to the
home of Mr. and ~ Elmer Kot-
ka on Sunday, and the group
celebrated the birthday of George
Kirkwood. Mr. and Mrs Lowen
were also ,'guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Nels Stpola and family during
one of the awards.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pajala visit-
ed at the Helmar Torppa home
on Sunday afternoon They had
toured the new convalescent
home in McMinnville earlier in
the afternoon.
PIRATES TIE FOR SECOND-
PLACE IN LEAGUE PLAY
The Pirates are now tied with
Willamina for the second-place
position in Yawama League ac-
tion following their win over the
Bulldogs Tuesday night. Randy
Freeborn netted 41 points to give
the Pirates a 60-56 victory over

AMARANTHA MISSIONARY
CIRCLE NAMES OFFICERS
The Amarantha Missionary Cir-
cle of the First Baptist Church
met last Thursday night in the
church social room. Mrs Dorothy
Kreder was hostess. There were
12 members and two guests, fiV[rs.
Stockhoff and Mrs. Garrett.
Mrs. Ralph Timm gave the de-
votions, and Mrs. Thee Brown
had charge of the lesson.
Officers that were announced
last week were instalied.
The February meeting will be
at the home of Mrs. Don Yottr~-
