Dave Green To Speak
To GOP Women
The Yamhill Cohnty Republi-
can Women's Club will hold its
regular monthly meeting, conven-
ing at 11:30 a.m., on Friday the
8th of March at Riverwood Golf
Club. The location is marked on
Highway 99W between Dundee
and the Dayton turn-off. The
meeting's speaker will be Mr.
Dave Green, chairman of the Re-
publican State Central Commit-
tee.
Mr. Green's talk will be of par-
ticular interest to all Republi-
cans. Mrs. Ronald Hatfield, pres-
ident of the group, is encourag-
ing the attendance of county
elected officials, legislative can-
didates, campaign committee
members, County Central Com-
mittee leaders and campaign
workers for both state and coun-
ty candidates who are running
for office. Club members are in-
vited to bring interested friends
to hear this discussion.
To raise money for the club's
treasury, members are asked to
observe the "green" month of
March by bringing houseplants
or starts for outdoor growing
things. These will be offered at

Yamhill County
WCTU To Meet Here
The Yamhill County WCTU
will he held at the Dayton Pio-
neer Evangelical social room from
10 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m.
on Tuesday, March 5. The Dayton
WCTU members will be hostesses.
WCTU members from McMinn-
ville and Newberg will join with
the Dayton members for the day
long institute.
The centennial anniversary of
the national WCTU will be ob-
served. Members are asked to
wear their whit~ ribbons.
The program will include devo-
tions both morning and after-
noon, a skit, and a speaker.
Luncheon will be served at noon.
Lena Filer Tuesday afternoon to
plan the institute were Mrs. Lioen
Phelps, Mrs. Ralph Timm and
Mrs. Mariam Krake.

Webfoot
The Webfoot Friendly Neigh-
bors Club will meet at the home
of Mrs. Lulu Clements, north of
Dayton, at 2 p.m., March 6.
Due to the lack of gas there
hasn't been much traveling to
write about lately. We meet
our neighbors occasionally at the
grocers or in a gas line. But it
will soon be Spring and garden-'"
ing time and I'm sure all will
feel better.
Mrs. Millie Gore was taken to
McMinnville Hospital Monday
night severely ill. She is slightly
improved at this writing.
George Doud has been confined
to the house the past week with
a back injury.

Feb. 5 ~ Army Specialist Four
Loren D. Deibel, 21, son of Mr.
and Mrs. George P. Deibel, Day-
ton, was selected as "best gun-
ner', for the Winter Grafenwohr
training period in Germany.
The selection was made from
the firing batterys in the 6th Bat-
talion of the 9th Field Artillery.
Spec. Deibel is regularly as-
signed as a gunner in Battery C
of the battalion in Giessen.
