Callander, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Hersha and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Terrill, enjoy- ing the evening. Delpha Evey of Olympia, Wash. was a guest of her sister, (Mrs. Beulah Reed from Monday till Friday, February 27. Thursday guests were Mrs. John Finn and Mrs. Daisy Bones for the day. Mrs. Lowell Ingles of Banks came on Friday to take her sister to visit with her ~for a few days before Miss Evey returns to Olympia. Mr. and Mrs. George Kirkwood and sons of Forest Grove were , Sunday evening guests of l~rs. Margaret Janzen. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reedy of Amity were Saturday guests of 'Mr. and Mrs. John Geisler. The Hopewell Missionary So- ciety will hold its March .meeting at the home of ,Mrs. David Olke Tuesday afternoon, March 10, with Mrs. Beulah Reed as leader. The group is gathering children's and other articles for Vietnamese orphans. All ladies of the com- munity are invited. DEDICATION OF FAMILY AND HOME HELD SUNDAY Last Sunday afternoon Mr. and rMrs. Fidel Gonzales held a dedi- cation of their home and family to the Lord, at their new house on Sixth Street. Gordon mad Patty Miller of Sheridan sang "Keys to the King- dom," and Joe and Ann Y.oder of McMinnville sang, "When There's Love at Home." The songs were sung to a guitar accompaniment in both Spanish and English. Scripture readings were from Joshua 24:34-.15 and Psalms 101: 1-2. Refreshments were served to the guests. -- THURSDAY, MARCH 5, 1970 FAIRVIEW A fire destroyed the interior of the abandoned Grand Island Junction Store and Texaco sta- tion on Friday morning. The Day- ton and Hop well fire trucks answered the alarm and re- mained about two hours. Defect- ive wiring is believed tohave been the cause of the fire. Mrs. May Rickey returned to the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Stockhoff on Feb. 24, after a week of treatment in the Salem Memorial Hospital. The evangelistic meetings at the Unionvale Community Church with charlotte Macy of Rock - way as guest speaker closed Sun- day, March 1. Miss Macy was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. L'. W. Ma- gee during the past week. Men of the Hop well and Un- ionvale Evangelical Churches )lan to attend the Evangelical Men's Retreat at Jennings Lodge this weekend, and a team of men from the various churches of the conference will be guest speakers at the Unionvale and Hop well Churches Sunday, March 8 for the morning service. They will also he ,guests at a potluck din- ner at the Unionvale Church at 12:30 Sunday. Everyone is cor- dially invited to attend. Members of the Hopewell and Unionvale Evangelical Churches will attend the World Day of Prayer service at the Dayton Pioneer Evangelical Church on March 6, 1:30-3 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. NAOMI REBEKAH LODGE PLAN FRIENDSHIP NIGHT Naomi Rebekah Lodge opened in due form Friday eveni/ag. Benny Taskinen of Portland was a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Taskinen for several days this week. Mrs. Veta Stephens accompan- ied her son, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Stephens and son Michael to their home in North Bend on Sunday, Feb. 22 for a visit~ until Wednesday. Wheatland Byron Shenk of Eugene, who spent two years in India as a missionary, showed pictures at the Western Mennonite Church Sunday. The students of the Western Mennonite School whose homes are at a distance were weekend guests of the T. F. Gingerich family and Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Judy Clements who was ill. Reist of Hopewell.
