Pastor's Corner
Dear Pastor Skip,
I received Christ as my Savior
about four y~ ago. For the l~t
two years though I have not gone to
church and ! have done some
things that I am quite ashamed of. 1
want to be dose to God again but 1
Just do not know hew to begin.
Could you please help me?
Thank you for writing, and yes I
will be glad to help. May I begin by
saying that you have already taken
the biggest step in once again
becoming close to God. That is, you
have recognized your need. With-
out first recognizing our need for
God we can never have close fel-
lowship with Him.
Having recognized your need the
next thing to do is confess your sin
to God. l John 1:9 says, "If we
confess our sin He is faithful and
righteous to forgive us our sin, and
to cleanse us from all unrighteous-
ness." That is one of the most
beautiful promises in the Bible.
Confession means to say the same
thing about your sin that God says.
We need to say God I know I have
done wrong and now I am going to
try my best to turn the other
direction and live as you want me to
live. Friend when we do that there
is no sin, no matter how large it
seems to us, that God will not
forgive.
Finally, begin today to work at
your relationship with God. Spirit-
ual growth is not automatic. It must
be worked at. Go to GOd in prayer
daily. Read the Bible daily. Be sure
to fellowship with God's people
regularly in a local church. Re-
member, God is desirous of your
fellowship. When you turn away
and lose contact with Him, He is
always there with wide open arms
ready to take you back.
If you have a question that you

THE WINTER WEATHER GANG!
NAOMI REBEKAH LODGE

Naomi Rebekah Lodge met Fri-
day evening with nine members
present. Lodge opened in regula~

chair.
There was no special business.
Cards were sent to Harriet Ed-

bers of the lodge.
Mrs. Katharine Galer was host-
ess for the evening and served re-
freshments at the close of lodge.
PGE wants to
help. When that gang of
cold weather energy users ar-
rives, they can make it mighty
uncomfortable for you-- righ t
in the pocketbook! Winter
brings longer nights and cold-
er temperatures. The result is
more heat and lights, more tv
watching and frigid water to
heat. With higher electric
usage comes higher bills..
Ways to save. PGE has a
library full of free literature on
how to save electricity and
money. Subjects range from
ways to use your appliances
wisely and economically to
step-by-step instructions
on building storm windows,
caulking, weatherstripping
doors and windows, and
much more. This literature is
free to our customers and
available at all PGE offices.
For do-it-yourself conser-
vationists, PGE sponsors the
half-hour "How-To-With-Pete"
television show on Saturday
mornings at 10 on KPTV,
Channel 12. Host, Pete Prlain,
demonstrates quick and easy
projects to save electricity
and money around your home.
Don't let high
bills get you
disconnected.
If you are having problems
paying your electric bills,
please call us before you are
in danger of termination of
services. We can help with
