PUBLIC FORUM... l~*tler to the Editor: ,lames B. Kennedy, LCDC. Sa- lem, Oregon, says that Malheur Cotinty citizens are not allowing the comprehensive land plan to be fin- ished. It was only presented to us ah,mlt.six months ago and public hearings were held and we testi- I fled. Isn't the public supposed to put input into the plan? We did and evidently the planners have to have time to put the plan and testimony into studies and print. LCDC has waited eight years already, so what ~s bugging then(? How come he is blaming the Counw Court. individuals, land speculator, and citizens at large for delaying the plan? Has he ever read the Senate Bill 100 and goals & guidelines? Even some of our attorne3s are having a hard time interpreting the law! If those LCDC smart alecks over in Salem, think the}' can do a better job than our people can, then I say, "'Yon are welcome to come over and do it here instead ot hmg distance!" Sincerely. Walter Trenkel Rt. 1, Box 133 Vale. ()re. Letter to the Editor: As a local taxpayer, land ov~ner and citizen of Malheur County, 1 would like to respond to the letter from James Kenned', of LCDC in Salem. I'm concerned about tarm land in Malheur County -- the only difference is I strongly fee! that locally elected individuals from this county can and shoukl have the only say' as to what should transpire in our county. It's a terrible tres- pass of our individual freedoms and liberties that the bureaucratic monster, LCDC, is being perpe- trated as a "savior" of our tarm land. ttas LCDC "saved" any farm WHO'S WHO IN OUR SHOPPING AREA . 1981 IF YOU CANNOT FIND IT IN DAYTON, THESE CONVENIENT BUSINESS HOUSES WILL BE PLEASED TO SERVE YOU GOLDBAR JEWELRY THE FRIENDLY STORE Fine 3ewGiry, Pulsar & Citizen Watches Gifts.
