Doud on Thursday and Friday evening Dr. Stanley
started her return trip home. She called her mother
Monday to report a safe trip and that it was raining in
Virginia.
Mrs. Bob Doud and children joined her husband at
Tektronix Thursday at noon for a potluck lunch
honoring several from his department who are leaving
soon.
Mr. and Mrs. Pat Smith of Mill City were Saturday
callers at the home of their mother, Mrs. Mildred
Shafer.
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Merkel of Vancouver, Wash.
(nee Janice Dorsey) were weekend guests of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Dorsey. Janice was honored
with a birthday dinner Saturday evening and another
one Sunday. Saturday evening the Dorseys and Dorothy
Ford saw the Gallery play "The Price."
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Christenson of Pipestone, Minn.,
were Tuesday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. George
The Kill Kare Klub met Thursday at the home of
Mrs. Frances Burris. There were eight members
present.
The club tied a quilt; the top was one given to the
club by Ruth Reeder. They worked on it all morning and
finished just in time to enjoy a bountiful pot luck dinner
at noon. The center piece was flowering plum and
daffodils.
After the dinner Mr. Burris took several of the ladies
out to see their lovely new motor home. Then Mrs.
Unruh called the meeting to order for business. The
minutes of the last meeting were read and the
treasurer's report given. A thank you note from the
Reeder family was read.
Mrs. Dorothea Hall won the door prize. The April
meeting will be at the home of Viola Unruh. The rest of
the afternoon was spent visiting.
Webfoot
Mrs. Mildred Shafer received word this week of the
arrival of another granddaughter, Terri Bishop, born
March 17 to Mr. and Mrs. Rick Bishop (nee Shirlie
Sharer) of E! Mirage, Arizona. She joins two sisters and
arrived on her older sister's birthday.
Mike Leroy accompanied his grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Bryce Ostrander to the beach for a few days
during Spring vacation. His mother, Mrs. Bob Doud
and children, Sarah and Jason went out on Friday and
brought him back with them while her parents re-
mained for a few more days.
Dr. Melissa Stanley and her mother, Mrs. Annie
Millam were luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. George

Doud. Mrs. Christenson is a niece of George's and they
had been visiting Elder Warner of Gladstone, a lifelong
friend of Dean's. They were on their return trip. and
visiting relatives briefly along the way.
Monday evening Mrs. Bob Dorsey and Mrs: George
Doud attended the YAMHELA Nature Society meeting
at McMinnville. Doris Lehman displayed many albums
of bird pictures taken locally. Kenneth Fender brought
many beetles and spoke briefly on his research of
species.
FAIR BOOSTERS TO HA IrE FLEA MARKET
The Yamhill County Fair Boosters are sponsoring a
"flea market" Saturday and Sunday, April 3rd and 4th
at the "A-Dec" building on the county fairgrounds.
Tables can be reserved for $5.00 per day. Call 472-2824
Hopewell SDA Church
Elder Fred Wilbur of McMinnville, was the speaker
at church hour on March 20. Mrs. Wilbur and her
brother accompanied him. They stayed for the fellow-
ship potluck dinner following the services. Elder
Wilbur and his saw gave the special music in Sabbath
School and also the church services.
Something special, coming before the Communion
Service next week on March 27 will be an inspirational
music treat given by Joe Pearles and The Quiet Sound.
The Willamette Dorcas Federation met on March
24th, 10 am to 1 pm at the South Salem SDA Church
(6994 Sunnyside S.E.). Elder Lee Grady, the new
director of SAWS* Watsonville, Ca., depot, was the
guest speaker. Also Elder Ron Watts, recently elected
new Personal Ministries Director of Oregon Conference
had a part. A fellowship potluck dinner was held ate/
pm.
Sabbath School highlights, March 20, Elder Dalles
Dull gave the Evangelism emphasis. Mission Spotlight
by Jim Jedel. Then Class Study concluded the Sabbath
School session.
This week is school spring vacation for McMinnville
Jr. Academy, Laurelwood Academy and Walla ~alla
College. Family groups spent the weekend at Neskowin
on the coasL
Mickey and Carol Campbell of Paid Cedro, Calif.,
and.their children, Robert, Brenda and Marcia spent a
few days with the George Byrnes and Lowell Camp-
bells. Freda and Frank Sellers of Newport also spent
