M liVERY SAVINGS lOAN IN ORIGON, IT I KIS $1000 IO 6 Ih% INI t[-ST.
~: iii ii~
It's a funny thing.
Some people think savings & loans offer a big advantage to the little guy. ,
The sad truth is, you need at least $1000 to buy a 61/z% savings certificate at any S&L in Oregon.
Frankly, $1000 is a big price to pay for a little extra interest. Which is why U. S. Bank has
some higher interest savings certificates you can get for as little as $100. How about that?
With just $100 you can earn at the rate of 51/2% interest a year on 90 day certificates.
6% a year on 1 year certificates. 61/2% a year on 2 ;/z year certificates.
As usual, there's an interest penalty for early withdrawal. But with extra interest piling up
month after month, who's in a hurry?
Obviously, it still takes money to make money. That's what makes saving so important.
But at U.S. Bank we make it our business to help you make more, with a whole lot less.
