Sunday when his mother, wife and sister, Marry Coulson, Ruby Coulson and Thel- ma Shelton and Mrs. Dave An- derson, who drove them in, all ar. rived, he was feeling fine. Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson was their granddaughter, Miss Pare Anderson from Eugene and Miss Tummy Decker. In the erecting Mr. and Mrs. Homer Anderson visited when they came to pick up Parn. Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Johnson were their son, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Johnson and their grandchildren, John and Christa, Mrs Annie Ash- ]ey and Mr. and Mrs. Homer An- derson. Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Laddie Goodwin and Mike, Debra and John from Hills- boro and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Pierce from Salem. Sunday Mrs. Edith Gram's ne- phew, David Brown picked her up and drove her to the convales- cent home in M~cMinnville to spend some time with her sister Mrs. Harriet Brown. Mrs. Mildred Stevenson, a friend from CaUfor- ,nia was visiting Hattie. They hadn't seen each other for 20 years. Mrs. Stevenson plans to settle here. After Brown brought her home Mrs. Gram was visited by her great niece, Mrs. Linda Holms, who has just returned from San Diego where she took her three children on their spring vacations, Lane, Leanne and Laural Holms. (This Week) Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ruth left] March 21 to visit her Sister, Mr. and Mrs, George Hurd in Stock- ton, Calif. They called oF Mr. and Mrs. Bill Taylor and their daugh- ter, Sherry Taylor and visited Mrs. Ruth's niece, Mr. and Mrs. Don Brow~, who were married in November. In Vallejo they called on Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hurd and two children, Dale and Terry. They toured some of the old min- ing towns on Daffdil I-Iiil, Sutters Creek and had an Italian feed in Jackson They returned Mar. 28. Sunday the Coffeys, ac- companied 'by Mr. and Mrs. Phil Dhainin drove to Detroit Dam to reserve a trailer space for the opening week of fishing. Sunday evening Harry DeLay and his neighbor's son, Bill Sippel, called. Sunday Mrs. Agnes Merrill and Merlin drove to Depoe Bay for dinner. Thursday morning Mrs. Vern Prosser was returned to the Mc- Minnville hospital. April 2 was the 5th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ev- erett Pruitt. Mrs. Pruitt spent it with him in the hospital. He is out of intensive care and improv- ing in the Physicians Medical Ctr. Friday evening Miss Julie Ste- phenson had two guests for a pizza dinner, David Kerr and Bobyn Welch of MeMinnville. Af- ter dinner they had a candlelight pilgrimage to the Lafayette Pio- neer Cemetery where they told scary stories. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Wise and Nell were visited over the week- nd by Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Clif- ton from Albany. Monday Mrs. Wise, Mrs. Jason Breaux and Mrs. Floyd Mock toured the Marine Science Center in New- port and had dinner at Neptune's Wharf with a group of over 60 Extension Units from several cit- Iies. ! They were accompanied by his sister, Christine from Vancouver, Wash. While there they visited their son, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pritehett and family in San Jose and George's three brothers, Cliff, gar cane field. E Johnson and great- WATERSHED REPORT HEARD BY LAFAYETTE PLANNERS Thursday, April 1 the Lafay- ette Planning Commission met in regular session and was given a report on the Lafayette water- shed by Bill Forest and Frell Zink from the Soil Conservation Serv- ice in McMinnville. Recommendations made by Mr. Forest were: Fully stock the wat- ershed with Douglas Fir for tim- ber producing trees; cut trees no longer producing; fire trails need waterbarring to prevent erosion; springs should be dug out and properly developed; install more water storage; consult with a forester for proper development of watershed resources.
