Mrs. Lena Filer and daughter
Charlotte spent the last weekend
of March at Seaside. They found
the ocean very stormy and snow
through the Tillamook Forest. On
the way home Sunday they
stopped at the Pioneer Museum
in Tiilamook and at Forest Grove
they stopped to see Mrs. Flora
Wakefield at the Forest View

,her feeling quite well. She is a
former resident of Dayton.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mosgrove
were Saturday evening dinner
guests at the home of their son,
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mosgrove
and family in Salem. They helped
their little grandson, Terry, cele-
brate his third birthday.

Nelson attended the Linfield Col-
lege a capella choir concert Mon-
day evening in McMinnville.
Mrs. Blanche Zentner from Mc-
Minnville visited her brother, Mr.

day afternoon and evening,
Mrs. Li, llian Young from SPO-
kane came Sunday afternoon to
visit her mother, Mrs. Mariam
~rake, and other relatives. Mrs.
Wanda Blum, another daughter,
came Monday morning from Til-
lamook and they visited another
daughter and sister, Mrs. Viola
Barber at McMinnville. They also
visited Mrs. Krake's sisters, Mrs.
Nelqe Griffith and Mrs. Cora
Wirfs. Mrs. Blum returned home
Monday and Mrs. Young left for
her home Tuesday.

Mrs. Lena Filer and daughter

were Saturday shoppers in Sa-
lem. They happened to meet Mrs.
Chas. Welchell of Salem, a for-
mer Dayton resident. She report-
ed that her husband, Rev. WeN
chell, was getting along well but
still needed to use crutches. He
injured himself in a fall recently.
On Sunday the Filers and Mrs.
Paul Lenderink and Mrs. U'Ren
attended the Newberg Men's Gar-
den Club spring flower show.
Mr. and Mrs. ~Lioen PhelPs ac-
companied a group from the
First Baptist Church in McMinn-
villa to Portland Friday evening
where they went to a Jewish Sy-
nagogue meeting. There were 43
going.
Sunday callers at the home of
Mrs. Nina Stevens were her son,
MY. and Mrs. Austin Stevens
from Aloha, his daughter Judy
Frazer, and two daughters from
Portland. Later in the afternoon
another son, Mr. and Mrs. Rich-
ard Stevens, from Ontario and
Mr. Frazer joined the group.
Sunday dinner guests at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Bud Calla,
han were their daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. John Terry of Portland. Sup-
per guests were Mr. and Mrs.
Bruce Paylor of Cornelius, Mr.
and Mrs. John Callahan of M -
Minnville and the Terrys. Even-
ing callers were Mr. and Mrs.
Floyd Matthews from Sheridan,
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Swearengen
and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. King of
Dayton. It was a reception for
the newly weds, Mr. and Mrs.
John Callahan.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Applehury
of Eugene were Sunday evening
dinner guests at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Verne Garrett.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mitchell
went to Chinook, Wash Sunday
and returned home Monday. They
visited relatives while there.
Mrs. Yr. A. Palmer and daugh-
ter, Mrs. Wesa Phillips, shopped
in Portland last Wednesday, then
visited their daughter and siSter,
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hizenriter and
family at Garden Home.
NEW OFFICERS AND BUDGET
ON PTA AGENDA MONDAY
The next Dayton PTA meeting
will be Monday, April 19 at 7:30
p.m. in the grade school cafeteria.
Parents are urged to keep this
date open as election of officers
for 1971-72 will be held and an
interesting meeting is being
planned. Whether or not you have
children in school r~ght now, it
will be a good time to come and
understand how this year's bud-
get was developed by the budget
committee.

It was a very interesting and
informative afternoon.

the home of Anne-Evers and Ev-
elyn Borgen will have the lesson.
