Reading Club Hears
A bout Mexico Tour
The Dayton Reading Club met
at the home of Ida Rutschman
Friday, May 3. The hostess served
a delicious dessert luncheon.
President Ann Evers turned
the meeting over to Velene Co-
burn, who had the lesson for the
day. She gave a travelogue of
their trip to Mexico this last win-
ter. Before crossing the border
at Sonoita, they enjoyed the
Stove Pipe Cactus National Mon-
ument in Arizona. On this trip
they had their first car trouble,
but found you can find nice peo-
ple no matter where you travel
when you have problems.
They spend their winters at
Wheeler's Trailer Park in La
Peinta, about 40 miles from Puer-
to Vallarta. Her husband enjoys
the fishing there, as they are
parked near the ocean. They take
time out to visit new tovcns and
places each year. This winter
they traveled to Puebla, the onyx
city, and Oaxaca where there arc
ruins no one knows much about.
The trip with Velene was very
enjoyable. After the lesson the
regular meeting with held with
Ann Evers presiding.
The next meeting will be a pot-
luck picnic at the home of Evelyn
Borgen Friday, May 17. Members
are to have lesson ideas for next
year, and will also have election
of offieers.
