enjoyed seeing them. Russell was
very generous and gave each a nice
bouquet. Mrs. Coburn took the
ladies home again.
Mr. and Mrs. John Callahan and
family and Mr, and Mrs. Bud
Callahan had Mothers Day dinner
in Sheridan Sunday. John Callahan
and his wife went to Portland
Monday to attend a funeral.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Budke
spent Mother's Day at the home of
their son, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Budke
and family in Beaverton.
Kroweldeen Club met last
Thursday at the home of Mrs. Orva
• Gubser. Winners were Elizabeth
Foster and Mina Carr. The next
meeting will be at the home of
Verlee Howard.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hall went
to the home of their daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Joel Starr in Philomath,
Friday. Sunday they went to a
banquet for mothers at the church
there. They returnedhome Monday
morning.
Mr. and.Mrs. Manley Borgan
took her mother, Mrs. Alvina Reu,
to church in Newberg Sunday, then
out to dinner for Mother's Day.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Duzan from
Portland took his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Duzan, out for Moth-
ers Day breakfast in McMinnville.
Mrs. Goldie Wright attended a
Mother-Daughter tea as a guest of
her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Dennis

Mrs. Lillian Temple from Amity,

Bill Wright one day last week.
Mrs. Lena Filer and two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Bernard Lippens and
Charlotte Filer attended church
Sunday morning then went to Bow-
man's in Newberg for Mother's
Day dinner. From there'they weal
to Silver Creek Falls Park to attet(ully
the third annual Mother's Day
native wild flower show. This was a
complete surprise for their mother
and one in which she is very in-
terested in as she has many lovely
wild flowers in her yard. The
display was under the direction of
naturalist Blanche Sweger, a re-
tired Silverton resident and long
time supporter of the parks pro-
gram.
There were about 80flifferent
wild flowers on display. A related
display entitled "Mosses, Ferns
and Lichens" was also on display.
They went by way of Woodburn
and home by way of Salem. It was a
beautiful drive and they saw many
dogwood trees and other shrubs
blooming along the highway.
Mrs. Jackie Rogers and daughter
Cindy of McMinnville were last
Wednesday callers at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Callahan.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mosgrove
and daughter Connie took his
mother, Mrs. Mae Mosgrove, to
Mother's Day dinner at the Dragon
Gate in McMinnville.
Mrs. Lena Filer and daughters,
Mrs. Bernard Lippens and Char-
lotte, spent Friday at Newport. It
was a beautiful day there and they
enjoyed the scenery on the way.
They stopped at two parks to look
for wild flowers.
