Golden Age
Group Sees SHdes
Of African Region
By Frleda Hedgeee
The Dayton Golden Age Group
Inc. had as their guests Friday
evening at the meal site, Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Johnson. It was a very
warm evening, and everyone trying
to keep cool.
The Johnsons showed slides on
Africa, which were very interesting
and had on display many articles
from Africa. Most interesting was
two pictures (country scenes) made
with banana peelings, by a ten year
old boy.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were very
gracious and answered many ques-
tions from the group and we thank
them for an interesting evening.
Final voting on election of offic-
ers for the Golden Age Group Inc.
will be friday June 23 and also our
meeting.
Birthdays will be honored on
June 16 with cake and ice cream.
Be sure and save your papers as we
have a paper drop now at corner of
entrance to fire hall.
The Dayton firemen are making
an "extension", beyond the kitch-
en for another stove and grills and
counter space. This will certainly
be a big help in cooking and both
groups will benefit from it so thank
you firemen for being so thought-
ful.
The menu for Friday night will
be meat loaf, scallop potatoes,
corn, salad and fruit.
Workers and ex-workers at the
Hudson House in Dundee had their
aqnual pot luck dinner at Wort.
marts Park Sunday. There were 30
present to enjoy the day. Eight
were present from Dayton.
Barney Lerton' of San Francisco
visited Miss Charlotte Filer Thurs-
day afternoon.
