Hopewell and
Unionvale
Church News
Friday evening, June 16, the
"Sound Waves", a singing group
from Puget Sound Christian Col-
lege, will give a concert at the
Hopewell Church at 7:30 pm fol-
lowing a parish potluck dinner at
6:30 pm. Everyone is cordially in-
vited.
Beverly Lewis, missionary to
Bolivia, gave a picture presentation
of her work in Christian colleges in
Bolivia at the evening service at the
Hopewell Church June 11. She re-
turns to Bolivia for the opening of
school there in July.
Sunday evening, June 18 from
6-8 pm a Fathers' Day party will be
enjoyed at the Hopewell Church,
with program and refreshments. A
)icture of each one's father will be
dis flayed, and all are requested to
bring such pictures. All members
and friends are urged to be present
to honor our fathers on his day.
The vacation Bible School at the
Unionvale Church each evening
last week was a fine success. About
90 children and 15 adults attended
each evening to see the Bible
stories illustrated with puppets by
Uncle Harry and Aunt Ella Reed.
Thursday evening at 7:30 pro,
the Bible study and prayer service
for both Hopewell and Unionvale
Church members and friends will
be held at the Hopewell Church.
All are invited.
DAYTON MAN GRADUATES
FROM OIT AT KLAMATH FALLS
Gerald Dennis Myzak received a
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil
Engineering Technology from Ore-
gon Institute of Technology, Kla-
math Falls on June 4.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hicks of
Seattle were weekend guests of
Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Magee and on
Sunday, a family gathering was
enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Bruce
Magee and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Jensen of Timber, Mr. and
Mrs. Guy Remme of Dayton, Tim
Magee and Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Magee.
Rev. and Mrs. Charles Ludwig
entertained with a potluck barbe-
cue Sunday afternoon for a large
group of the young married couples
of the Hopewell and Unionvale
churches.
PUBLIC FORUM
Before we in Oregon vote on any
11/2 % limitation on property tax or
on any other tt ax of this nature, let
us wait and see what California is
going to do about their little pack-
age of proposition 13. From my
vantage point up here in Oregon I
don't think the voters had enough
time to see what the consequences
would add up to on the results of
Proposition 13.
From what l have heard and
think the results of the poll indicate
the majority of the voters thought
they were voting on Preparation H.
P.S. If some of you think that this is
a bit foolish, I agree with you. Wait
awhile, we might find out Proposi-
tion 13 was just as foolish.
