ten (10) days after the bid open-

All bidders must submit pre-
qualification statements seven
(7) days prior to the bid opening.
All proposals must be submitted
on the forms furnished with the
documents and each must be ac-
companied by a surety bond, ca-
shier's check, or certified check
in an amount equal to ten percent
(10%) of the aggregate amount
of the proposal. The successful
bidder will be required to fur-
nish a bond equal to the amount
of the proposal for the faithful
performance of the contract.

July 14, a potluck picnic for
the members and friends of the
Hopewell and Unionvale Com-
munity Churches will be held at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle
Tresham, following the morning
services. A baptismal service is
planned during the afternoon.

Saturday for a visit with their.
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Peter De-
Haan and family.
The Peter DeHaan Dairy re-
ceived an award as an honor
dairy from the Oregon Dairy As-
sociation.
Mr. and Mrs Allan Polvi and
family of Walla Watla, Wash.,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Charnholm
and Mr and Mrs Kirby Johnson
of Salem were Saturday guests of
Mrs. Esther Polvi. Mr. and Mrs.
Charnhohn took their grandchil-
dren, children of the Allan Polvi's
to their beach cottage in Lincoln
City for a week, while their par-
ents went to San Leandro, Calif.
to visit Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pol-
vi and family.
Mrs. Lowell Ingles of Malming
was a Thursday guest of her sis-
ter. Mrs. Beulah Reed,
Mr. and Mrs N. O Pearse were
Friday guest~ of their son, Mr
of the City unless the bid con-
tains a statement by the bidder
as a part of his bid that the pro-
visions required by ORS 279.350
shall be included in his contract.
The project is to be completed
within 90 calendar days. If the
project is not com, pl~ted by this
time, the liquidated damages
clause will be invoked.
The City of Dayton reserves
the right to reject any and all
bids or to accept any bid which
appears to serve the best interest
of the Owner.

The Vacation Bible School of
the Hopewell SDA Church closed
Friday evening, June 28" with a
program presented by the child-
ren: "Creation Week" was the
theme of the session, and the
children sang songs and Bible
verses they had learned and dis-
played their crafts. The leaders
gave graduation certificates to 59
children, and awards were given
to those having perfect attend-
ance records. Dr. Harold Follett
of Portland was guest speaker
for the program.
The annual S D. Oreg~ Con-
ference Camp meeting will be
held at Gladstone July 12-20 and
members of the Hopewell Church
plan to attend, with services
there on the two Sabbaths of
the Camp meeting.

FOR SIX YEARS IN ARMY
Specialist Four Rolando Alon-
zo. son of Mr. and Mrs. Juan
Alonzo, Dayton, reenlisted for six
years in the regular Army while
serving with the 1st Cavalry Divi-
sion at Ft. Hood, Tax.
Spec. Alonzo is a tank crew-
man in Company A, 1st Battalion
of the Division's 13th Armor.
