Dayton Doings Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jackman and three sons spent the Labor Day weekend at the home of her mother, Mrs. Florence Foster. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baybrook from Newberg were Saturday evening callers at the home of her sister, Mrs. Florence Foster. Friends and relatives that en- joyed dinner at the home of Mrs. Mariam Krake last Wednesday were tier sister-in-law, Mrs. Net- tie Dougherty and her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Collins from Anguin, Calif. Others present were Mrs. Wanda Blum from Tillamook, Mrs. Viola Barber from McMinnville, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Riley from Depoe Bay, and Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Krake from Dayton. They will leave for home Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Duzan visited at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Duzan, in Portland Monday afternoon. They all went to see their sister and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hauser also in Portland. Mrs. Hauser is improving from a heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Galer visited her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Irwin of McCoy Sunday afternoon. Last Fridayd evening Char- lotte Filer and Mary Ruddick had dinner in Hillsboro and than attended a Pacific University party at the home of Dr. and Mrs. James Miller. The Ramona Circle WSWS of the Dayton Pioneer Evangelical Church will be held at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Lenderink. Fri- day, Sept. 10, at 1:30 pm. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Callahan spent the Labor Day weekend in Coos Bay. Joining them were Mr. and Mrs. William Clark and daughter, Melissa, from Eugene and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sample and children from Dayton. They all camped at Blue Bill Camp- ground. On the way home the Callahans stopped to visit a cou- sin, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Attridge at Agate Beach. They report lovely weather and a nice time. Mr. and Mrs. John Lorenzen, Elvyn Lorenzen and Mrs. Grab- enhorst from McMinnville were Tuesday dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Mariam Krake. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hall spent Saturday with their daugh- ter, MP. and Mrs. Paul Mathie- son in Portland and their grand- daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Douglas from Port Angeles. Saturday night and Sunday morning caller at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Poole was her sister-in-law, Mrs. Nina Finley, from Coquille. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wondrack and Mrs. Leda Mathis from Portland were luncheon guests at the home of Mrs. Ruth Reeder Tuesday. Mrs. Ruth Reeder spent the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hill and Mrs. Jennie Brickley in Salem. She spent one evening visiting her daughter, Jane, and room mate, Susan Graves in Keizer. The Dayton Garden Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Ruth Reeder Monday, Sept. 13 at 1:30 pm. Miss Charlotte Filer was a dinner guest Tuesday evening of Mrs. Dwyn Anne Adams of Bea- verton. WHEATLAND Western Mennonite High School opened Tuesday, Sept. 7. Richard Wenger is pastor of the Western Mennonite Church. Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Gingerich and family were hosts for dinner Sunday to welcome the new teachers at Western Mennonite High School, Rolan Leitchty of Wayland, Iowa, who is the new Dean of Boys; and Betty Jo Stucky from Kansas, who is Assistant Dean of Girls; and the single teachers who are returning for this year: Shirley Yoder. English teacher, Esther Lanting, of Fresno, Calif Dean of Girls nd Bible teacher; and Dottle Nolt from Pennsylvania, who is the Home Economics teacher.
