Tennis Nets Repaired
At Dayton Courts
By ELAINE CRAIG
Tennis court nets at Dayton
Jr.-Sr. High Schoo have suffered
from being constantly tightened,
elevating them to a higher-than.
regulation height. This week the
nets have been repaired, and set
at the correct height of 3 feet in
the center and 3 feet 6 inches at
the posts. Center tapes have been
added, to hold the net at the ex-
act three foot height. An added
advantage of these tapes is that
they keep the net from brushing
on the court surface, preventing
excess wear on the lower net.
The tennis courts were built as
a joint project of the School Dis-
trict, Dayton students, and Boos-
ter Club, to be enjoyed by the
entire community. And indeed, a
great many have been on the
courts this past year, to leisurely
practise or exert more strenuous-
ly with the competition of play
It is hoped th~ everyone will
have continued use of the Dayton 3h ~a~ton ~eibun,
tennis courts, as all in the com-
munity cooperate in seeing that P.O. Box 08, Dayton, Ore. 97114

Coupon Books Now
On Sale At School
This is a good news article
and it goes like this. The Jumbo
Drive-Inn in McMinnville which
is owned and operated by Mrs.
Doris Metzker is offering a book
of coupons with a total worth of
$13.50 to patrons of her eating
establishment for just $3.00--
and that isn't all. These coupons
are attached to a two-year desk
which comes without d~tes so
that it can be used as you have
the need. The coupons come with-
out dates too (no expiration date)
so they are good until all are
used.
This is how they work. For ev-
ery $1 worth of food ordered you
Dayton, Oregon 97114
may use one 25c coupon. If you
as a family go in and order $8
worth of food you could use
eight coupons for a savings of
$2. (A great idea for after a foot-
ball game or for an inexpensive
dinner out.)

day, Sept. 21 and may be pur-
chased from any member of the
Dayton High Concert Choir or
Swing Choir, or by calling the

QUESTION:
In May 1974, I purchased pro-
perty which had been designated
as.forest land. The statute pro-
rides that forest land designation
,shall be removed upon sale or
transfer unless the transferee
makes a new application within
60 days of the date of purchase.
My land was- disqualified and I
was notified by letter of the dis-
qua~lification. I then made an ap
plication, dated July 15, for spe-
cial assessment of the land. My
application was denied because
it was not made within 60 days
of the sale. The county measured
the 60 days from May 9, 1974,
the date on which the grantor
signed the deed. It seems to me
that the appropriate date from
:which to measure is May 14, the
date of my check to the title
company. What would be the cor-
rect date as to when the sale oc-
curred?
ANSWER:
In a previous case the court
held that title does not pass at
the time of delivery of a deed
into escrow. Rather, the deed is
deemed to be delivered at the
time the conditions of sale are
met. Since in the instant case
payment was not made until May
14, the delivery could not have
occurred prior to that date.
Therefore, your application, was
timely and must be granted.
Plan ahead!
