Diane Breaux, Zereta Hanks
and I went to Salem on Friday
morning to a Fellowship meeting
held each Friday from now on. It
is non-denominational and anyone
is welcome for singing and a mes-
sage of prayer -- the speaker is
a woman and she is really good.
Sophie and Bill Hills made a trip
to Susanville, Calif., to visit
friends. Thay visited with Mr.
and Mrs Jack Bonham and Flor-
ence Bonham. The Bonham,~ were
neighbors of the Hills when they
all lived in l~evada. They cele-
brated Mrs. Jack Bonham's birth
day while they were there with
home made ice cream and cake.
Another old friend of their days
in Nevada, Mrs. Maude Heller,
passed away while they were in
Su~anville. Sophie said they took
prunes and tomatoes along with
them to give to the Bonhams and
they were really happy to get the
produce. The Hills drove down to
California by way of Klamath
Falls and came back a more east-
ern route thru Lakeview.

Tot Thair had her niece, Lor-
na Spears, from Kaslo, B.C. vis-
iting her for a week or so.
Sue Thair tells me that John
Lewis an the children and her
and Ernie drove her daughter
Sandy to the Portland airport on
Sunday to go to Palm Springs,
Calif. for a Stanley dealers con-
vention. Sandy called home and
said she had been given an award
for top sales lady in August. San-
dy would like to take this oppor-
tunity to thank all of the ladies
who have given parties for her
and all the folks who attended
for helping her earn this honor~
without their support, this would
not be happening to her.
Sue and Ernie and the Lewis's
t()ok Tot Thair out to Grandma's
table last Thursday for a birth-
day dinner. Tot was a lovely 84.
Congratulations from your many
friends in town.

T[/ere was a small fire in the
old Terry Cafe building last Fri-
day night. I don't usually go to
fires but I did go down to see
about where this one was as the
smoke was very close to the Mer-
rill home and I wanted to make
sure it wasn't Agnes's home.
