Work Started This Week On New
600,000 Gallon Reservoir For Dayton
The Dayton City Council Monday
j evening held a public hearing on
amendments to the city's fencing
ance. The new statute adds
sions to regulate chain link
fencing, requires fence permit and
sets a permit fee.
Following the public hearing the
council went into regular session
and heard a request for annexation
of property. The council voted to
table the request because of the
sewer situation.
The city engineer reported that
approval had been received from
EDA on the new reservoir. Work
began Wednesday on the project
to add additional water storage.
Bids on the sewer expansion pro-
ject will be opened Oct. 20.
The council reviewed the police
fund in the city's budget and made
revisions following the recent levy
election. Voters approved a $2215
levy for the police fund but turned
down the "B" ballot for $22,000.
At present, city police services will
remain the same. If revenue shar-
ing is not approved by Congress,
more budget revisions may become
necessary.
