at the home of Mrs. Paul Lender-
ihk for its October meeting. A
delici0us dessert Was served be-
fore the meeting opened.
The members sang "America
the Beautifur' as the opening
song and gave the flag salute.
Mrs. Gracie Phelps acted as
secretary in the absence of Mrs.
Helen Engei. Roll call was ans-
wered by members bringing their
baby pictures. Those that didn't
have one answered by telling
something about their vacation.
Mrs, Ruth Reeder had her va-
cation story all written up. She
had visited 14 states during the
summer. It was read by the pres-
ident, Mrs. Lena Filer, and was
very interesting.
Mrs. Filer announced that the
Silverton Chrysanthemum show
would be held at Silverton Union
High School Oct. 13-14 and also
the Country Garden Club annual
mum show would be held at
Spring Valley Community Center
on the same dates.
~Several fall bouquets were on
display, including one of flower-
ing kale given Mrs. Mariam Krake
by Ray Albright.
Mrs. John Reu won the door
prize. There were 10 members
present to enjoy the afternoon.
The ~)vember meeting will be
at the home of Mrs. Ruth Reeder,
and the lesson will be mums and
Thanksgiving.
