Mrs. Farah Potter from Chica- go, Ill has been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Ditto She came Saturday, Nov. 3 and left Thursday for Springfield to visit a cousin. Relatives coming to see her and the Ditto family Sun- day were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Dit- to from St. Helens, Dr. Edwin Dit- to from Oregon City, and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Ditto from Seattle. Miss Charlotte Filer attended a dinner party Saturday evening at the home of Misses Helen and Sy- bil Emerson in McMinnville. Miss Wanda Blum front Tilla- mook spent a few days at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mariam Krake, last week. Sunday after- noon callers at the Krake home were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Werth. Mrs. Blanche Zentner was a Sunday dinner guest at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Ar- thur Mosgrove. Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Galer and family from HopeweH were Sun- day dinner guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Galer, Sunday. In the afternoon Fenton went to the car show in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mosgrove were Saturday evening dinner guests at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mosgrove. They helped their granddaughter, Denise, celebrate her birthday. The Dayton Garden Club will meet Monday afternoon, Nov. 12, at the home of Mrs. Ruth Reeder. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Palmer spent last weekend at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hizenriter and family at Tigard. Professor Charlotte Filer took her Linfield College History of Mass Communications class on a field trip Tuesday to the Portland Oregonian and to KGW Channel 8 TV. They appeared briefly on the evening news cast and had dinner together later in the evening. Miss Charlotte Filer joined Miss Patricia Jones for dinner in McMinnville Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Youngburg from Carlton spent Sunday after- noon at the hon~e of Mr. and Mrs. Lioen Phelps. Sunday callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mitchell were their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mer- ritt Carmichael from Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Freel, Sr from Salem and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Boyer and Dorothy of Mc- Minnville. Carl came home from the hospital last week and is con- valescing at home. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Phelps from Eugene spent Friday and Satur- day at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lioen Phelps. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Callahan drove to Lebanon Sunday to visit his mother, Mrs. Tom Callahan, in a nursing home there. They had supper and visited at the home of Bud's brother, Mr. and Mrs. John Callahan, in the eve- ~ing. Thursday evening callers at the Bud Callahan home were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Paylor from Cornelius and their grandson, David Myers, frora Salem, Friday evening callers were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Matthews from Sheridan and Mr. and Mrs. John Callahan and two sons from Dayton. The Bud Callahans were supper guests at the home of" Mr. and Mrs. Har- old Young Saturday. WHEATLAND Bertha "Magness returned to her home Wednesday Oct. 31 from a two months stay in the McMinn- ville Hospital and Oak Glen Nurs- ing Home. She is able to be up and about the house. She and her sister Virginia Magness received word that another sister Mrs. Ade- line Underhill of Dufur is still in The Dalles Hospital for treatment of a back ailment. She is able to be up and about a little, but not sufficiently well to return to her home. Mrs. Lenna Wilson returned Saturday, Nov. 3 from a month's visit with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wright and family of Tigard. She also enjoyed a trip with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mer- cy Savage and her daughter, Mrs. Edna Craig of Salem, and anoth- er daughter, Mrs. Margaret Sieg- round of Warrington, Wash ear- ly in October, to Mt. Hood Tim- berline Lodge and to the Hill Mu- seum near the Columbia River, on the way to Mt. Rainier and (; other points of interest in Wash- ington. Unionvole The first meeting of the Boys' Brigade was held Tuesday even- ing, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Un- ionvale Evangelica] Church Gym. The leaders in charge of the dif- ferent age groups of the boys. are Earl Compton, Robert Janzen and M. L. Hodgson, and all boys 8-14 are invited to join the Bri- gade. Monday evening, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m the Hopewell, Union- vale Churches will join with the D a y t o n Pioneer Evangelical Church for a meeting with the Conference Board of Missions, with Rev. Gordon Jaffee of the Eugene Edgewood Evangelical Church as speaker of the even- ing. Unionvale Evangelical Church Homecoming service is planned for Sunday, Nov. 18, with pot- luck dinner and program follow- ing the morning service. Every- one is cordially invited to attend.
