presses upon secondary students
the need for some type of educa-
tion or training beyond high
school.
The visitation supplements the
guidance program of Dayton High
School. Students will be given
first hand information about
course offerings, admission re-
quirements, housing, costs to at-
tend, financial aids and scholar-
ships and other information per-
tinent to planning for the college
experience.
Parents are invited to attend
the visitation.
Services Held For
Flora Wakefield
Graveside services for Flora
Belle Wakefield, 91, of Dayton,
were held Tuesday, Nov. 6 at
Evergreen Memorial Park. Rev.
Lyrnan Myers of Dayton Pioneer
Evangelical Church officiated.
Mrs. Wakefield died Nov. 3 in
Forest Grove.
She was born Dec. 9, 1881, at
Oaksdale, Wash the daughter of
Riley and Orphelia Mattoon An-
drus. She was married to James
Saunders Wakefield Sept. 29,
1009 at Brownsville, Ore.He pre-
deceased her in 1948. The family
lived in Dayton for many years
where Mrs. Wakefield was the
librarian for a time.
Survivors include two sons,
Alva Mathew Wakefield and
James Riley Wakefield, both of
Portial~d; five grandchildren and
four great grandchildren.
Macy & Son Mortuary were in
charge of arrangements.
Craft Objects Shown
To Junior Matrons
The Josephine Junior Matrons
met Monday evening at the home
of Bernice Dummer. Co-hostess
was Marcia Carter.
Linda Hampton displayed arts
and crafts objects as gift ideas
from the Side Door at McMinn-
ville. Marjorie Franzen was elect-
ed historian for the group.
The Christmas Social with hus-
bands, as guests will be held Dec.
1 at the home of Roberta House.
KILL KARE KLUB HAS
POTLUCK DINNER
Mrs. Ruth Reeder entertained
the Kill Kare Klub Thursday. A
pot luck dinner was enjoyed at
noon and the rest of-the after-
noon was spent quilting a lovely
neck-tie quilt. There were five
members and a guest, Mrs. Lena
Filer, present.
The president being absent
there was no business meeting.
Mrs. W. H. Merryman won the
door prize. The December meet-
ing will be at the home of Mrs.
Beulah McGill in McMinnville.
