Mrs. Lena Filer and daughter
Charlotte spent from Wednesday
to Friday at Surfpeint Inn at De-
poe Bay. They had Thanksgiving
dinner at the Surfrider and
shopped in Newport Friday. Sat-
urday they were in Salem.
Sunday afternoon callers at the
home of Mrs. Kenneth Brown
were Mr. and .Mrs. Roger Nelson
and two children from McMinn-
ville and Mr. and Mrs Carl Nelson
from Albany.
Thanksgiving dinner guests at
the home of Mr. and Mrs Bud Cal-
lahan were Mrs. Thelma Clark
and four children from Eugene
and their son Mr. and Mrs. John
Callahan and son from McMinn-
ville.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stone and
daughter from Portland were Fri-
day dinner guests at the home of
Mr. and ,Mrs. Verne Garrett.
M. and Mrs. Bud Callahan drove
to Portland Friday to get their
granddaughter Kimberly for a
few days. Luncheon guests that
day were Mr. and Mrs. Mike
Swearengin and children. A Sat-
urday dinner guest was their son
Mr and Mrs. John Callahan and
son from Mc~Cfinnville.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Duzan ac-
companied Mr. and ,Mrs Larry
Duzan from Albany to Portland
Thanksgiving day where they were
dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ross
Duzan and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Wi~l Ditto had
Thanksgiving dinner at the home
of their son, Dr Edwin Ditto in
Oregon City.
Mr and Mrs. Vic. Sieler and
family from Richland, Wash
spent last Friday at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs Will
Ditto.
Mr. and Mrs Carl Mitchell re-
turned home Monday after spend-
ing the Thanksgiving holidays
with their daughter Mr. and Mrs.
Amos Freel at Croak, Wash. They
were gone six days:

zan were Mr. and Mrs. Don Du-
zan and family from Albany.
Mr and ,Mrs Robert Ditto from
Arcadia, Calif were Wednesday
guests at the home of his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Will Ditto. They
went on to St. Helens to visit
their children there and returned
to spend Sunday with his parents.
Mrs. Nina Stevens spent Wed
nesday night with her daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shirley.

with Miss Rita Cochran in Mil-
waukie.

spent Thanksgiving at the home
of their daughter, Mr and Mrs.
Dave Hizenriter and family in
Garden Home.
Steve Taylor ! from Deadwood
visited his sister, MiSs Winnifred
Taylor, Sunday afternoon.

Women's Missionary Council oL
the Dayton Assembly of God
Church report good success from
their month long rummage sale.
The sale allowed them to meet
many new people. We would like
to thank the Putmans for the use
of space over and in the store.

handmade Christmas items in the

A miscellaneous shower in honor
of Carolyn Shultz, bride elect of
Paul Wagner, was given Tuesday,
Nov. 16 in the social room in the
Dayton First Baptist Church.
The hostesses were Dorothy
Kreder, Dorothy Miller, Sharon
Tanaka and Sharon Rogers. The
roo~ns were appropriately decorat-
ed in fall colors.
Shower games were played and
gifts were presented and opened.
The mothers and sisters of the
couple were asked to dress the
bride with a dress, veil and a
bouquet made of paper, ribbon and
bows from the gift packageS. This
proved to be quite hilarious and
a lot of fun. Twenty five guests
were present for the evening.
The wedding for the young cou-
ple was held at 3 pm Saturday,
Nov. 27 at the Bethel Baptist
Church in McMinnville.
Both the father of thebride and
the father of the groom participat-
ed in the ceremony -- Rev. Don-
ald Shulz of Lafayette and Rev.
Walter Wagner of Dayton.
After a short honeymoon, the
young couple will be at home in
Dayton.

Lodge Elects Officers
Naomi Rebekah Lodge met for
a regular meeting last Friday
evening. Roll call showed that
some members were ill. Mrs.
Blanche Radie will have eye sur-
gery this week, and George Doud
was reported as doing well after
eye surgery.
Routine business was the next
item on the agenda. Since there
were no new nominations for offi-
cers, it was voted that the follow-
ing be eleced by acclamation:
Ruth Doud, Noble Grand; Li!-
lian Lyman, Vice Grand; Sylva
Willard, Secretary; Sarah Alti'
mus, Financial Secretary and Mil-
dred Burch, treasurer.
Several ~rom Dayton will go to
Ne~berg Dec. 3 for the district
meeting. The per capita tax was
voted to be paid. A family night
pot luck dinner was announced
for Dec. 11.
It was then voted to bring
Christmas gifts to the next meet-
ing Dec. 10 to be taken to the
IOOF home in Portland.
Under good of the order LiHian
Lyman gave her new officers work
and received many compliments.
Noble Gi'and Madeline Cell was
pleased to have many members
read poems they had written on.
Thanksgiving during the good of
the order time. Others spoke a few
words of Thanksgiving. Lodge
then closed in regular form.
Agnes Abdill and Mildred Burch
served home made cookies and
coffee. The centerpiece of the
serving table was beautiful apples
on a bed of greenery. The apples
were from Mrs. Abdill~ dwarf
tree.
